Offers Chaser Adware

What is Offers Chaser?
Offers Chaser is a malicious application identical to Terrific Shopper and Torpedo Deals. This app claims to save time and money by delivering various coupons and providing notifications of special deals/discounts available within online shops.
By offering these features, Offers Chaser attempts to give the impression of legitimacy, however, this app often infiltrates systems without consent. In addition, Offers Chaser feeds users with 'malvertising' ads and gathers private data. For these reasons, Offers Chaser is classed as adware and a potentially unwanted program (PUP).
After system infiltration, Offers Chaser generates malicious ads by employing tools that enable placement of third party graphical content on any site. Therefore, the delivered ads often conceal underlying website content, thereby diminishing the browsing experience.
Furthermore, some 'malvertising' ads lead to malicious ads and/or execute scripts that download and install malware. Therefore, clicking these ads may cause high-risk computer infections. Offers Chaser sets its website (which redirects users to search.yahoo.com) as the browser homepage.
This adware is known to hijack the browser new tab page and redirect to the yahoo.com search engine. Another downside is information tracking. Offers Chaser continually records various information (e.g., IP addresses, website URLs visited, pages viewed, queries entered into search engines, keystrokes, etc.) Most of this information is related to Internet browsing habits.
Developers sell it to third parties (mostly, for marketing purposes). Thus, the presence of a data-tracking app might lead to serious privacy issues.
Furthermore, some potentially unwanted programs misuse system resources to stealthily mine cryptocurrency or run other unwanted processes in the background. This behavior significantly diminishes overall computer performance. For these reasons, we strongly advise you to eliminate Offers Chaser adware immediately.

Research shows that all adware-type applications are very similar. As with Offers Chaser, apps such as MapsFrontier, Bizarrehall, Bookmarks Button, and many others, also offer various 'useful features'. Although these apps offer different functionality, they have identical behavior. Adware-type applications are designed only to generate revenue for the developers.
All promises to deliver useful functionality are attempts to trick users to install. In fact, only a small percentage of PUPs provide the functions promised. Most are useless for regular users. Rather than delivering real value, they deliver malicious ads, gather various information, and misuse system resources, thereby posing threat to your privacy and Internet browsing safety.
How did Offers Chaser install on my computer?
Offers Chaser has an official download website, however, as mentioned above, it often infiltrates systems without consent. This is often due to careless behavior and poor knowledge exhibited by many users.
Research shows that Offers Chaser is also promoted using a deceptive marketing method called "bundling" - stealth installation of third party programs together with regular software/apps. Developers hide bundled programs within the "Custom/Advanced" settings or other sections of the download/installation processes.
Many users rush and skip this section, thereby exposing their systems to risk of various infections and putting their privacy at risk.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
Potentially unwanted programs are distributed using the aforementioned bundling method and malicious advertisements. Therefore, be very cautious when downloading/installing software and browsing the Internet in general.
Carefully analyze each step of the download/installation processes (using the "Custom/Advanced" settings) and decline offers to download/install third party software. Be aware that criminals employ bundling to monetize third party download/installation tools (they proliferate third party programs).
Therefore, we strongly advise that you download your software from official sources only, preferably using a direct download link. Furthermore, be aware that criminals put a great deal of time and effort into designing malicious ads and, for this reason, it is difficult to determine if they originate from the visited (legitimate) website - most appear genuine.
In fact, they usually lead to survey, gambling, pornography, adult dating, and other dubious websites. If you are redirected to this type of website, uninstall all suspicious applications and browser plug-ins. The key to computer safety is caution.
