What is Search Lovely?
Search Lovely and similar apps are classified as browser hijackers because they change browser settings to force users to visit a specific address (and use a fake search engine). This particular app promotes tailsearch.com in this way.
Browser hijackers also collect browsing-related (and other) information. In most cases, users download and install these rogue apps inadvertently and, therefore, they are categorized as potentially unwanted applications.
When browsers are hijacked by Search Lovely or similar apps, users are forced to visit a specific address when they open a browser, new tab, or enter search queries into the URL bar. Browser hijackers often change setting such as the homepage, new tab, and default search engine to the address of a fake search engine.
As mentioned, Search Lovely promotes tailsearch.com, however, it does not change necessarily the aforementioned settings - it opens tailsearch.com when it detects that users enter search queries into the URL bar.
tailsearch.com redirects users to google.com or bing.com (via my-search.com and search-checker.com) and displays results generated by Google or Bing. To remove tailsearch.com from browser settings, users must first uninstall Search Lovely (or other apps that promote it).
Additionally, browser hijackers gather browsing-related information. For example, geolocations, addresses of visited websites, entered search queries, and IP addresses. In some cases, they can read personal, confidential data. The data is monetized by selling it to third parties (potentially, cyber criminals) or misused for other malicious purposes.
Therefore, users might become victims of identity theft, and encounter problems relating to browsing safety and online privacy, and other issues.

Some examples of apps that are also classified as browser hijackers are Finding Pro, XoXoEmoticons, and mylucky Tab. Usually, they are advertised as apps that improve browsing experience and are useful in various other ways. In fact, most are useless to regular users and are designed to promote a specific address and gather data.
Therefore, browser hijackers should never be installed on browsers or operating systems.
How did Search Lovely install on my computer?
PUAs are distributed via download/installation set-ups of other products. This deceptive marketing tactic of packing regular software with unwanted or malicious additions is called "bundling".
Rushing download/installation processes (e.g. ignoring terms, skipping steps and settings, etc.) increases the risk of inadvertently allowing bundled content into the system.
Some PUAs have "official" download sites. Intrusive advertisements proliferate these applications as well. Once clicked, they can execute scripts to download/install PUAs without users' consent.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications
Download software and files from official websites and via direct links. It is not safe to use torrent clients, eMule (or other Peer-to-Peer networks), third party downloaders, unofficial websites or other sources of this kind.
Avoid third party installers. Check "Advanced", "Custom" and other settings, and decline offers to download or install unwanted software. Do not click ads that are displayed on dubious websites, since they can open other untrusted websites or even cause unwanted downloads and installations.
Remove any unwanted, suspicious applications (extensions, add-ons, and plug-ins) that are installed on the browser. The same should be applied to programs of this kind that are installed on the operating system.
Regularly scan your computer with reputable antivirus or anti-spyware software and keep this software up to date.
