Agence Nationale de la Sécurité Virus

Also Known As: Agence Nationale de la Sécurité Ransomware
Damage level: Severe

What is Agence Nationale de la Sécurité?

Computer users from France should be aware that no legitimate authorities use screen-blocking messages to collect fines for any law violations. This fake message demands payment a 100 Euro fine using Ukash or PaySafeCard in order to unblock your computer. Note that paying this fine is equivalent to sending your money to cyber criminals.

Agence Nationale de la Sécurité des Systèmes D'information ransomware virus

The Agence Nationale de la Sécurité ransomware virus originates from a family of screen-blocking malware called Urausy and predominantly targets PC users from France. Variants of this ransomware, however, target other countries such as Metropolitan British Police "Computer Blocked" from the UK, and Mandiant U.S.A Cyber Security "Computer Blocked" from the USA.

Deceptive messages used by this scam are translated into local languages and exploit the names of local authorities. If a message, supposedly delivered from Agence Nationale de la Sécurité des Systèmes D'information, blocks your screen, you are dealing with a ransomware virus. Do not trust this message or pay the 100 euro fine, since this is a scam.

Update 2015/02/05 - Cyber criminals have updated the design of Agence Nationale de la Sécurité des Systèmes D'information ransomware virus:

france Agence Nationale de la Sécurité des Systèmes D'information ransomware virus reveton 2015

Cyber criminals responsible for developing the Agence Nationale de la Sécurité des Systèmes D'information ransomware virus hope that unsuspecting PC users from France (and other countries) will believe that they have violated local laws and pay the bogus fine.

In fact, by paying this fine, PC users send their money to cyber criminals, and furthermore, there is no guarantee that their computers will be unblocked as a result.

A common source of such ransomware viruses are 'exploit kits', which use out-dated software on the user's computers to infiltrate, and then inject malicious code to lock the desktop and demand payment of a fine to supposedly unlock it.

If your computer is already infected with the Agence Nationale de la Sécurité des Systèmes D'information ransomware virus, do not pay any fines. Use the removal guide provided to eliminate this scam from your PC.
