JobCrypter ransomware removal instructions

What is JobCrypter?

JobCrypter is ransomware designed to encrypt various files stored on the system. It targets PC users from France, adding a .locked or .css extension to each encrypted file (therefore, it is easy to recognize which files are compromised). A .txt file is then created containing all information about the encryption. It is stated that users must pay a ransom, otherwise the files will remain encrypted forever.

To unlock the files, users are encouraged to pay a ransom of 300 Euros using the paysafecard. Details of where and how to pay are provided. As a guarantee, JobCrypter developers offer free decryption of one file - the user must attach an encrypted file to an email and developers will supposedly return the decrypted version. The email must also contain a unique computer ID, otherwise the user will remain unidentified. Currently, there are no tools capable of decrypting files affected by JobCrypter and, therefore, the only solution is restore your system from a backup.

JobCrypter decrypt instructions

JobCrypter shares many similarities with ransomware such as TeslaCrypt, UmbreCrypt, RackCrypt, and CryptoWall. In fact, all ransomware is virtually identical. The only differences between them are size of ransom and algorithm used to encrypt the files. Note that ransomware-type malware is mostly distributed via P2P networks, fake software updates, malicious email attachments, and trojans. Therefore, users should be very cautious when downloading files from untrusted sources and opening files received from unrecognized email addresses. Furthermore, keep your installed software up-to-date and use a legitimate anti-spyware/anti-virus suite.
