MINISTÈRE DE L'INTÉRIEUR Virus

Also Known As: MINISTÈRE DE L'INTÉRIEUR Ransomware
Damage level: Severe

What is MINISTÈRE DE L'INTÉRIEUR?

MINISTÈRE DE L'INTÉRIEUR is the name of a legitimate authority that is being exploited by cyber criminals in order to trick computer users into paying a bogus fine for supposed copyright or other law violations. This fake message specifically targets computer users from France.

Cyber criminals use the name of an authority within a locally-translated deceptive message to scare PC users into paying a 100 Euro fine - supposedly for watching pornography, downloading copyrighted material, etc.

Computer users from France (or anywhere else) should not trust this message, it is a scam. This fake message is a computer security infection called ransomware, and this particular rogue originates from a family called Reveton.

If your computer screen is blocked with this message, you have been targeted by cyber criminals who hope that you will fall for their trickery and send them money for the bogus fine. Do not pay this fake fine using Ukash, Paysafecard, or any other method. If you do, you will lose your money and your computer will remain locked.

Ransomware infections from the Reveton family are able to adapt the deceptive message and graphics according to the location of the targeted user's computer. This is achieved by detecting the IP address of the PC connected to the Internet.

MINISTÈRE DE L'INTÉRIEUR virus Police Nationale Francaise virus Police and Genarmerie Nationale Ukash and PaySafeCard virus

MINISTÈRE DE L'INTÉRIEUR has no connection with this message, and furthermore, no authorities use screen lockers to collect fines for any law violations. In the recently discovered ransomware infections, which target PC users from France, cyber criminals exploit the names of Police Nationale Francaise and Police Gendermerie Nationale.

Such messages are developed by cyber criminals who make money from unsuspecting people who fall for their trickery and pay the fine. To protect your computer from these ransomware infections, always use legitimate antivirus and antispyware programs. If your computer screen is already locked with this scam, use the removal guide to unlock your PC.

Ukash (Smart Voucher Limited) is a legitimate company and not related to ransomware viruses - cyber criminals use this service to extort money from unsuspecting PC users.
