Politie Office Central "Votre ordinateur est bloqué à cause d'un ou de plusieurs motifs, indiqués ci-dessous" virus - how to remove?

What is Politie Office Central?

The Politie Office Central message demands payment of a 100 Euro fine using Ukash or PaySafeCard in order to unblock the user's computer. This is a bogus message, a scam created by cyber criminals. This ransomware virus targets PC users predominantly from Belgium, however, be aware that no authorities, internationally, use screen-blocking messages to collect fines for any law violations. Paying this fine is equivalent to sending your money to cyber criminals. This devious message makes false accusations of watching child pornography, possessing pirated video, music files, etc. in order to scare computer users into paying the bogus fine. Moreover, this message orders the fine to be paid within 72 hours - a ploy to create a sense of urgency.

Politie Office Central virus

The Politie Office Central ransomware virus is distributed using infected email messages, drive-by downloads, and malicious websites. Commonly, this infection is proliferated using 'exploit kits', which infiltrate users' systems via any detected security vulnerabilities. After infiltration, ransomware viruses block the desktop and disable the Task Manager and other Windows features that would otherwise allow termination of the fake message. This particular ransomware virus originates from a family called "Flimrans". Cyber criminals responsible for creating this scam, localize the deceptive message in order to trick PC users from different countries. If you observe the Politie Office Central message on your computer, demanding payment of a fine using Ukash or PaySafeCard, you are dealing with a ransomware virus. Do not pay any fines - the correct way to deal with this screen-blocking message is to eliminate it from your computer.

The Politie Office Central ransomware virus has the capability to adapt its appearance and language according to the location of the computer targeted for infiltration. For example, a ransomware-infected computer located in the USA would display the message as if sent by the Computer Crime and Intellectual Property Section. Never trust messages accusing you of law violations and requesting payment of fines using pre-paid card services such as Ukash, PaySafeCard, MoneyPak, CashU etc. This is a standard model of ransomware viruses designed to extort money from unsuspecting PC users. If your computer is already infected with Politie Office Central ransomware, use the removal instructions provided to eliminate it from your PC.
